Come and see Baltimore before there was an Inner Harbor or Camden Yards, when Raymond Berry and Johnny Unitas were demi-gods, and when Ike was still in the White House. In this world a group of young men are coming of age and fighting it all the way. The diner is their refuge. It is warm and familiar. The world outside is cold and uncertain. The ensemble cast includes Steve Guttenberg, Kevin Bacon, Paul Reiser and Mickey Rourke.

This is the first of Barry Levinsonís Baltimore film series that includes "Tin Men," "Avalon" and "Liberty Heights." It received an Academy Award nomination for best original screenplay.

Rated R for adult situations and language.
