Differences from Web/Steam
The mobile version sports several differences from the web version, mostly with UI. Gameplay is also majorly different, mainly due to missing content, but mobile-specific changes exist as well.
Layout
Unlike the web's 3 tabs that are visible at all times, the mobile version dedicates tabs to the whole screen and allows switching between them.
Tabs include:
- Cookie - akin to the left tab on web, displays the Big Cookie as well as Wrinklers. The only tab where shimmers will appear.
- Store - akin to the right tab on web, displays buildings and upgrades to be observed and/or bought. Note that mobile does not have the middle tab from web.
- Special - displays special features such as Legacy, Bingo Center, Krumblor, Season Switcher, etc.
- Stats - akin to the Stats menu on web, displays all stats but also allows viewing previous events, news, upgrades, achievements and Milk.
- Misc - displays tip of the day and several non-gameplay features.
- Text from Orteil.
- Settings.
- About - brief overview of the game with links.
- Version history.
- Wipe save - not the same as ascending!
- Alpha status and options to switch if one is available.
Gameplay
- Perfect idling from the start of the game. Wrinklers also eat cookies when offline. Golden cookie buffs run out when the game is closed, however.
- A "Special" tab, which shows the ascend button, the research upgrades, the Golden switch, the Season switcher, both pets (Krumblor & Santa), quick buttons and the background & milk customizer. It is presumed that minigames will appear here when implemented.
- The ability to "Buy all" upgrades without the Inspired Checklist heavenly upgrade. The mobile version does not include this upgrade.
- The ability to see the prestige tree without ascending, as well as viewing the upgrades descriptions and prices.
- The "Log" button, in the Stats menu, which shows all previous notifications, such as previous achievements, golden cookie information, and how many cookies were made when offline.
- A "Buy Max" button for buildings. Buys the maximum amount of a certain building.
- Cookie clicks and Cookies per click statistics being changed to Cookie taps and Cookies per tap.
- Different formatting of large numbers (e.g. "2.3M" instead of "2.3 million"). This takes effect as early as thousands (e.g. "6.4k" instead of "6,400").
Exclusive content
The live version of mobile has certain exclusive content, which the website and steam versions do not have:
- Certain golden cookie skins. These are the skins of Christmas, business day and Halloween. The business day golden cookie skins are different than the wrath business day golden cookie skins in texture.
- Quick buttons: found in the "Special" tab, they are 4 buttons which are displayed later on the bottom right of the "Cookie" screen. Quick buttons are unlocked with the "Power clicks"
- Power clicks.
- The "Wrinkler Ambergris", an upgrade which has a 1 out of 10,000 chance of dropping after bursting a Wrinkler, but has a 1 out of 1.000 chance of dropping from a Shiny Wrinkler, with a minimum price of 1 million cookies. The drops chance is not affected by random drop multipliers. This upgrade boosts cookie production by +6%, and makes all upgrades 1% cheaper. Once unlocked, it will remain in the store forever, until bought. It is not removed from the store upon ascending. Its cost is one hour of unbuffed CpS. The minimum cost of the upgrade is 1M cookies.
- On the top of the "Special", "Stats" and "Misc." sections, there is a rolling pin with the tab's name, where free upgrades may spawn if the pin is rolled, as well as in the "Misc." section, where there is text from a mini Orteil figure, in which free upgrades may also spawn. The free upgrades are seasonal cookies if the seasons are active. Such as: Christmas cookies from Christmas, spooky cookies if the Halloween season is active. The free upgrades can also be fortune upgrades. But the upgrades are only unlocked and have to be bought from the shop.
- Cookie-dunker: Though this achievement is not exclusive to mobile cookie clicker, the way to get this achievement is changed significantly.
- To get the achievement, tap and hold the big cookie and drag it around in various directions to dislodge it from the center of the screen, then drag it down into the milk.
- Getting this achievement unlocks the "dislodge cookie" setting in the settings page on misc tab.
- On top of the normal settings on the settings page, there are two additional settings that are not featured in the desktop version. These are —
- Tab swipe: Lets you left and right to swap tabs. The default is off.
- Dislodge cookie: Pull on the big cookie to dislodge it. This setting is unlocked from getting the achievement "cookie-dunker". Before getting the achievement this setting is automatically turned on.

Trivia
- Orteil has stated that at some point during the beta, there will be an option to pay a small amount of money to remove ads.[1]
- The word "Ambergris" refers to a a waxy substance found floating in or on the shores of tropical waters, believed to originate in the intestines of the sperm whale. This technically means that Wrinklers are whales.
