[UPDATED 2023] FULL OUTBREAK EASTER EGG 2 GUIDE | Cold War Zombies - Detonated (2024)

Starting Tips

• Unlike the Round Based maps, there are no power/pack-a-punch quests in Outbreak. And since you can’t begin the first step until Round 3 minimum, you can just set up and prepare.

Loadouts we recommend for Main Quest 2:

• Ring of Fire
• M16 / Dual Wield AMP 63’s are REALLY good

After you have set up, it’s time to do the first step of the easter egg.

STEP 1 | Entering the Portal & Contacting Ravenov

• After entering into Round 3, there will be a Red Portal located somewhere in the map, here is the location for each map:

NOTE: If you got Sanatorium on Round 3, you cannot go into a portal, you must either end the game or go to the next round.

• Alpine: Dead Man’s Cliff

• Duga: Bunker Hill

• Golova: Church

• Ruka: Old Farm

• Zoo: Wolf Exhibit

• Collateral: Cliffs West

• Armada: Capsized

• After you have located your Red Portal, go through the portal and it will teleport you into the sky.

Example: In our game, on Round 3 we got Duga, so our red portal was underground in the Bunker Hill.

• Once you are in the sky, head towards the next rift, which should be in front of you, or somewhere close to you in the sky.

• Repeat this two more times until you go through the portal for the last time and see a Beacon Listening Device fall in front of you.

• Pick the Beacon Listening Device up, complete the main objective of the mission (if you haven’t already), head to the Beacon, interact with the Beacon itself and select “Contact Ravenov”

STEP 2 | Crashed Omega Helicopter

• Once you’ve finished talking to Ravenov, you will be teleported to Sanatorium. Head over to Carved Hills where you will see a crashed helicopter.
• Once you’ve arrived, a one minute lockdown will begin.
• When you’ve finished the lockdown, interact with an Omega audio recording located in the helicopter.

STEP 3 | Mister Peeks

• After interacting with the Omega Audio Recording, the next step is to locate Mister Peeks, there are 3 different locations in which he can spawn:

• Location 1 (Groundskeeping)
• Location 2 (Market Square)
• Location 3 (Sanatorium Roof)

After locating Mister Peeks, interact with him and a mini-lockdown will begin. Kill all of the zombies and when finished, you can pick Mister Peeks up. Bring him to the Bridge and insert him into the Aetherium Neutralizer Rover.

STEP 4 | Shooting Red Orb Towards The Bridge

NOTE: If you have trouble finding the bridge it will display as the main objective on the mini-map.

• The last step is to locate a Red Orb located in 1 of 3 locations, as shown below:

• When you have found the red orb, you must shoot it, but only in the direction of the bridge. You are trying to shoot it over to the bridge where you placed Mister Peeks.

• After shooting it, it will go for 2-3 seconds and stop, where you need to shoot it in the direction of the bridge again, and repeat until the orb is at the bridge.

Once the Orb is successfully sent to the bridge, it will merge inside of the Aether Bunny and Rover.

STEP 5 | Boss Fight

Prerequisites:

Death Machine & Ring of Fire

• These are NOT Required but will make it a lot easier

When everyone is ready, head to the bridge and listen to the recording below the Aetherium Neutralizer Rover.

IMPORTANT: This will trigger the boss fight, so make sure you / your team are ready!

After interacting with the recording, an escort step will start where you have to follow the rover, stay inside of the circle, and protect it from taking damage.

This step will last around 1-2 minutes (could be longer depending if you let it get damaged or are too far away from it)

After you have made it to the end of the rover escort step, head to the top of the statue ahead of you and listen to the recording at the top of the roof.

Once this has played out and Weaver has warned you of Zombies coming, you are on the final step of easter egg: killing Orda.

Head down to the objective where you will see Orda spawn.

Assuming you / your teammates brought a Death Machine and Ring of Fire, activate ring of fire, pull out the death machine and kill Orda easily, activating the ending cutscene for MQ2!

NOTE: Of course, it is possible to kill Orda without Ring of Fire or a Death Machine, but it would be slightly harder.

And with that, Congratulations!
